Atheism on the Decline

The World Tribune headline reads "God is not so dead." Take that Nietzsche!

"Two developments are plaguing atheism these days. One is that it appears to be losing its scientific underpinnings. The other is the historical experience of hundreds of millions of people worldwide that atheists are in no position to claim the moral high ground."

The article is an interesting read. On the surface the news may sound encouraging but I believe that humanism is taking ground inside the Christian church. I'm not even referring to specific hot issues like homosexuality. In a more general trend, A lot of Christians either don't understand the difference between a Christ-centered worldview and self-centered one or they just don't care to live out a Christ-centered one. So the humanism that is still prevalant in our culture gets influence inside the Church through "worldy" Christians.

Is it good news that more people claim to believe in God if fewer of them seem to have really been changed by their relationship with Him?
