Open letter to Kanye West,
You exploited a charity telethon for hurricane victims to make an outrageous personal attack against George Bush. You've succeeded further dividing our nation at a moment when we were coming together to help people in need. You've suceeded in making yourself a headline when the whole country was transfixed on New Orleans. Oh but that's right, your new album just dropped two days ago.
So we're supposed to believe that you ripped Bush during NBC's fundraiser not because you are opportunistic but because you really care about the hurricane survivors? Pardon my incredulity.

It was the wrong time for the message, but Kanye spoke what's being spoken throughout much of non-white America. Ask any person of color if they think that the media coverage has been fair to the poor blacks who didn't have the means to evacuate, or if President Bush would have moved so slowly if the flooding emergency had happened in a majority white neighborhood.
This is the truth about race in America. This is not about selling albums.
